Educación
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree in Telecommunications or
Computer Science, or equivalent in training and experience.
Requisitos
Three (3) years of experience in the design, installation and maintenance of
Communication Systems such as microwave/fiber optic system, trunked radio system
and SCADA/EMS systems or equivalents. Familiarity with communication system
design standards, codes, cost estimates, equipment application, scheduling and
construction practices desired. A detailed knowledge of and demonstrated working
experience with LANs, WANs, Ethernet, Frame Relay, multiplexing, telephony,
loop/hot standby protection schemes and software diagnostic programs desired.
Software requirements: MS-DOS, Windows95, Windows 2000, WindowsNT, Windows XP,
MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, Visio and AutoCAD.
Basic Job Duties
Assist in the planning, budgeting
and implementation of a corporate broadband wide area network (WAN), utilizing
OUC's fiber optic network, to provide an intelligent connection to both internal
and external customers. Develop and maintain standards for the OUC Radio
Systems. Maintain existing Communication Systems designs/standards and develop
new designs/standards using current technology to improve reliability/reduce
costs. Provide and maintain documentation for all Communication Systems,
including network administration and the WAN. Develop/enhance training program
for the OUC Communication Systems. Provide in-house training for personnel as
required. Provide field guidance to Communication Technicians or others in
modifications to the Communication Systems. Provide project management and
engineering services for Communication Systems projects. Survey Communication
Systems customers to ensure that the communication system is able to meet their
current and future needs. Assist in the engineering and supervise the
installation of OUC's fiber optic network and the marketing of any surplus
infrastructure. Develop and implement new standards, including the selection of
new technology, to replace the existing SCADA/EMS RTUs with input and assistance
from the Systems Operations and Energy Control Center. Write reports, memos
Purchase Requests, etc., as needed in fulfilling job duties. Perform other
duties as may be assigned by the Division Director.
