AMWA Awards The Reliable One with Platinum Award for Excellence
NAPLES, Fla. – The Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies (AMWA) on Monday awarded OUC—The Reliable One with its top utility management award, the Platinum Award for Utility Excellence, for outstanding achievement in implementing the nationally recognized Attributes of Effectively Managed Utilities.
OUC Water Vice President Rob Teegarden says the award is a credit to OUC’s dedication to providing reliable, high quality and affordable water service to customers while also ensuring a safe supply for future generations.
“I am especially proud of the team here at OUC whose hard work has made this possible. Managing a water system of 1,700 miles of pipe and serving more than 200,000 customers requires a huge effort and commitment, and our people continue to deliver day in and day out,” Teegarden said.
“The Platinum award recognizes the extraordinary performance of water agencies like OUC where management vision and employee commitment create a sustainable utility producing ample supplies of clean, safe drinking water,” AMWA President Brian Ramaley said.
The Attributes of Effectively Managed Utilities were developed by water utility executives, commissioned by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, AMWA and other water industry associations. The key attributes include: product quality, customer satisfaction, employee and leadership development, operational optimization, financial viability, infrastructure stability, operational resiliency, community sustainability, water resource adequacy and stakeholder understanding and support.
