OUC Report Takes Top Spot In Nationwide Contest ORLANDO (November 7, 2002) – OUC—The Reliable One took top honors for its 2001 annual report in a national contest conducted by the American Public Power Association (APPA).OUC's annual report, titled "Reliability is the Name of the Game," won the Award of Excellence in APPA's largest utility category. The category is for public power utilities with revenues of $400 million or more. Using a game-board concept for its annual report design, OUC presented the year's achievements in a lively, playful format. At the same time, the report's text and images — including photographs of more than 30 OUC employees — illustrated the utility's unwavering commitment to reliability. Wordwise Inc. designed the piece, and OUC staff wrote the copy. "Providing reliable service is everything to OUC, and our 2001 annual report really drove that point home," says Roseann Harrington, vice president of marketing, communications and community relations for OUC. "We kept the report's theme straightforward and focused while injecting plenty of fun and excitement into the text and visuals." APPA, based in Washington, D.C., is the trade organization for America's more than 2,000 community-owned electric utilities. Its annual report contest is judged by professionals in the fields of communications, marketing and printing. OUC—The Reliable One lives up to its name by providing the best record of electric reliability in the state of Florida and delivering high-quality, great-tasting drinking water to its customers. Established in 1923 and owned by the citizens of Orlando, OUC serves more than 190,000 customers in Orlando, St. Cloud and parts of unincorporated Orange and Osceola counties.
