OUC Commits To Quality Education KISSIMMEE
– OUC—The Reliable One is helping improve the quality of education in Osceola County public schools through its continuing support of the Foundation for Osceola Education Inc.
Tommy Boroughs, first vice president of OUC's governing board, recently presented scholarships to students during the foundation's 2003 Scholarship Awards Night. "As one of our major sponsors, you made our Scholarship Awards Night possible," foundation President Ken Smith and Executive Director Kathy Carr said in a letter to OUC. "The evening was a great success and many young men and women will now have the opportunity to realize their dreams of higher education and brighter futures because of your generosity." OUC is a trustee-level sponsor of the Foundation for Osceola Education. Since its inception in 1985, the foundation has contributed more than $1.3 million to student scholarships in Osceola County, more than $367,842 for school-enhancement programs and more than $152,900 for recognizing and retaining quality teachers. The foundation's programs have helped a total of more than 150,000 students in Osceola County.
