ORLANDO – OUC crews and additional out-of-state resources continue to work power outages. We plan to have all customers restored by Saturday afternoon October 8. Since it was safe to work this morning, crews have already restored power to about 12,000 customers. As of 4:45 p.m., we have about 13,000 customers without power. The numbers fluctuated throughout the day as the outer feeder bands of Hurricane Matthew continued to cause issues. We are working to provide estimated times of restoration for individual outages.
We continue to send additional resources into the field and will work throughout the night to ensure power is restored as quickly and safely as possible by tomorrow. Before the storm hit, OUC brought in hundreds of additional line technicians and tree trimmers from as far as Texas and Missouri who are helping us with restoration. OUC’s online outage map at OUC.com/stormcenter is fully functional and able to provide up-to-date outage information.
