Hub provides high-speed EV charging to Orange County visitors and residents
ORLANDO, Fla. – Today, OUC—The Reliable One and the Orange County Convention Center hosted a grand opening ceremony for the utility’s second high-speed electric vehicle (EV) charging hub, located at 8500 Tradeshow Boulevard, Orlando, 32819. Speakers at the unveiling ceremony included OUC Board of Commissioners President Larry Mills and Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings.
Located at the Orange County Convention Center’s North Complex, the hub conveniently provides hassle-free charging to Orange County residents and visitors alike in the bustling I-Drive District. Six 240-kW direct current fast-charging (DCFC) ports, compatible with a variety of EVs including Chevrolet, Ford, BMW, Kia, Hyundai, Tesla and others, can fully charge a typical EV to 80% in about 30 minutes. Depending on the EV, that can add up to 245 miles of range.

“OUC remains committed to advancing electrification across Central Florida,” said Jenise Osani, OUC Vice President of Marketing & New Products. “We’re excited to bring high-speed EV charging to a bustling area of our service territory. The site further complements OUC’s efforts to ensure Central Florida remains a national leader in EV readiness for both our residents and visitors.”
The hub is part of OUC’s commitment to support the transition to transportation electrification. Funds from a $266,850 grant from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) were used to partially pay for the hub.
EV charger manufacturer Power Electronics and Orange County helped secure that grant. CHA Companies, Inc. oversaw site engineering while Aireko Energy Group built the facility. The site uses Orlando-based NovaCHARGE’s ChargeUP application for point-of-sale transaction management.
The site has the capacity to be expanded to offer up to as many as 12 Level 3 chargers in the future. OUC is seeking funding to build three additional hubs through the Charging & Fueling Infrastructure Federal grant program for sites at Orlando International Airport and in east Orlando and St. Cloud.
