ORLANDO, Fla. – OUC—The Reliable One is conducting a “prescribed burn” today on the one of forested grounds at Stanton Energy Center (SEC) in east Orange County.

Las quemas prescritas están diseñadas para mantener el hábitat esencial necesario para la supervivencia del pájaro carpintero de cabeza roja que está en peligro de extinción. El Departamento de Protección Ambiental de Florida junto con el Servicio de Pesca y Vida Silvestre del Departamento del Interior de Estados Unidos y la Comisión de Conservación de Vida Silvestre y Pesca de Florida exigen la realización de estas quemas controladas, que se llevan a cabo bajo la supervisión de una cuadrilla capacitada equipada con camiones cisterna y mangueras.
