Orlando, Fla. – OUC is closely monitoring severe weather forecasted for much of Central Florida, which could result in damage to power lines and poles. OUC crews are prepared to respond to any outages that occur, and we encourage customers to prepare as well. Below are some recommendations to help them as well.

Safety Around Electricity & Standing Water
After the storm, exercise extreme caution outdoors. Stay away from downed power lines and areas where lines may be hidden, such as in floodwaters and vegetation. Keep children and pets away from areas where lines may have fallen. Finally, be aware of debris in streets and do not drive over downed lines.

Then our crews make repairs to main distribution lines that restore power to the largest number of customers in the quickest manner possible. Finally, crews repair damage that affects only a few individual customers at each location.
